Reverend Allen has served as Rector for St. David’s Episcopal Church since 1997.  He graduated from Duke University (A.B.) and Virginia Theological Seminary (M. Div.).  He also serves as Canon for Evangelism, Diocese of Guatemala and as Board Member of Duke’s Divinity school. Reverend Allen and his wife, Dr Amy Allen, have 3 grown sons and a grandchild.  In his free time Reverend Allen enjoys singing and playing the guitar, gardening, and writing about the spiritual life.
